Thanks so much for the fence work that you completed for us in August 2009. We are very proud of the way that the fence has turned out. From beginning to end you both have worked with us to achieve our fencing goals.

Richard and the fencing crew was always amenable to any tweaks that we desired to make and still remain close to the original estimates. The last fence builder that I spoke with was Richard Bland. I told Richard our needs, and he was excited to hear from us, because his daughter had been begging to go to camp. Richard built our fence and his daughter attended camp that summer and a relationship began that has had an impact on so many levels.

1. Richard’s skills and abilities have been a huge blessing to Camp Sandy Cove. He has built several other fences, an archery range, canoe racks and our front gate. Most of these projects have been done in trade for camper-ships that his daughter (Denali) and his son (Brock) have been able to utilize. These trades also saved Camp Sandy Cove a great deal of money.
2. Denali and Brock have had the opportunity to enjoy many weeks at Camp Sandy Cove. They have grown closer to the Lord through their times of worship, cabin Bible studies and Chapels. Brock told me recently that he really likes when we do “the Jesus stuff” at camp.
3. This year Sandy Cove was able to meet another very real need for Richard and his wife Teresa. The stress of owning their own business in this economy was adding to the challenges of maintaining a healthy, Christ-centered marriage. Richard and Teresa were able to attend Tandem…A Weekend for Two, the couple’s conference at Sandy Cove on February 13-15, 2009. The time away, reflecting on Christ and His Word was a real blessing for both of them. At the end of the weekend they both shared that they were more in love with each and with God than ever before. They believe that they will never forget 2/14/09! It has become a milestone in their life and in their marriage.

When I first noticed that we had to replace the fence at the camp we had just purchased, I was a little frustrated. Little did I know that God had plans to use that fence and the relationships that would form around it in order to save the ministry money, enable children to grow in their relationship with Him, and to mend a marriage.

I hope that this story encourages you to allow your challenges to become opportunities for the Lord to be at work in your life!

All I can say is Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You.

First, Thank You for NOT saying, “I told you so!” about the sealing and preservation of the ten foot fence you installed for us way back in 2004.

Second, Thank You for your prompt and professional response to our request for repairs. We know that it was a very small job and sincerely appreciate your willingness to incorporate us into your schedule; and finally, thank you, for the extra effort in installing a second row of reinforcements/supports for our privacy fence.

When my wife and I retired to the area I really didn’t understand the intensity or the predominate direction of the winds here on the South Fork and that, on top of neglecting to properly seal the surfaces of the fencing materials, resulted in some twisting and misalignment of several fence boards or slats used to build the fence.

The repairs and reinforcements Bland Fencing made worked perfectly. The fence is as straight and strong as the day you first installed it in 2004. And, you, Richard can be sure that when the weather breaks we will be first in line to have you back to seal the fence with weather protecting stain, just another service I was unaware that you offer your clients.
